Donner Mine Music Camp

The philosophy of DONNER MINE MUSIC CAMP is to do everything possible in the space of one week to encourage and stimulate interest and growth in young musicians.

Our Assistant Teachers are highly skilled musicians from the finest music schools and colleges in the United States. In addition to counseling a group of 6 to 8 campers, they provide solo and ensemble demonstration concerts, regularly direct sectionals and assist with private lessons.

Musical activities include: Concert Band, Master Classes, Theory, Camp Choir, Jazz Band, Improvisation, Solos and Ensembles.

Outdoor activities include: Campfires, Swimming, Fishing, Volleyball, Basketball, Star Hike, Arts and Crafts, Hiking, and the very popular Teen Dance.

The camp is situated at the Zeibright gold mine and is generously offered to us by the Beatie family. This camp is rich with staff and friends, and is a perfect place to study the history of California gold mining, the Donner Party, the Emigrant Trail, outdoor education, and don't forget...

Lots of Music!
